This evening, dad & I went to the airport to meet up with Uncle Larry who was going back to New Zealand. We had a great time of catching up with one another. I remembered Uncle Larry & Aunty Eileen were the ones who taught me how to do deliverance between 2002-2003.
During that time without my knowledge, they were praying about going into the deliverance ministry. One night, I dreamt that they were called to do a special ministry & so God gave them a little horn on top of their forehead as a weapon, much like a unicorn. However, when they were not doing this special ministry, their horns would be covered by their hair. I woke up thinking, "What in the world was that?" I googled unicorn and discovered that the powder scrapped from the unicorn's horn could dispel poison. I told them my dream & they knew that it was God's confirmation for them to go into this ministry actively.
Do you know that demons are fallen angels? When they were kicked out of heaven by God, satan took about 1/3 of the angels with him. Under satan's authority, demons have 2 main objectives while on earth. They will first keep you from knowing Christ. When that fails, their second task was to keep you from serving Christ & entering your destiny.
Let me distinguish between the flesh & demons. The flesh is our old carnal nature & demons are 'persons' that move in to occupy areas of our personalities. For eg in the area of anger, sometimes we need to take hold of our anger by crucifying the flesh, ie, exercising self discipline in the area of anger. However, if you have prayed, fasted & still there is no victory, you can be almost sure you are dealing with a demon. Anger in this case is binding & enslaving. The solution then is not to crucify the flesh but to expel the demon. It takes spiritual discernment to sense the difference.
There are 9 verbs to describe the active characteristics of demons.
1) Entice
Evil spirits tempt people to do evil. The enticement comes in a verbal form.
Someone forgot to take his wallet on the table. Then you hear a voice that tells you to take it, after all, no one will know about it. You will then have money to spend on that pair of shoes that you saw yesterday.
2) Harrass
These demons study & follow your movements. They know your weak moment & know when to move in to get you harrassed.
A man had a bad day in the office. His secretary forgot to send an important document, & he was ticked off by his superior. On the way home, there was a bad traffic jam. When he reached home, his children were screaming & fighting. And believe it or not, his wife had not gotten his dinner ready on the table. He blew his top. That demon of anger that had been on his tail the whole day, jumped in & took over. The demon knew when he was entitled to move in.
3) Torment
In your heart, if you have unforgiveness against anyone, you are a legitimate target for the demon of torment to torment your soul. Unforgiveness gives the demon legal access to enter in & attach itself to your emotion. Besides emotional torment, there is also physical torment eg arthritis. There is also mental torment eg fear of going insane.
4) Compel
Anything that is compulsive is usually demonic. Some people cant stop gambling or drinking. They wont be satisfied until they have sat down to gamble or reach for that bottle of liquor/beer.
