The Power & Influence of Soul Ties
Oops! I have taken awhile to come back to this topic. Sorry... w.
THE INFLUENCE OF LIKE SPIRITS
Anyway, I'm sure you'll want to know how demons are able to enter into soul ties? Well, just as we have physical laws on earth, we also have spiritual laws to govern us. When spiritual boundaries are violated, evil spirits are able to enter.
God has set boundaries for all our relationships to protect us eg in a marriage, a man is to forsake all others and be joined to his wife. In a godly marriage, the Holy Spirit flows between husband and wife and the 2 shall become 1. Through soul ties, a spiritual channel is formed.
The same principle operates in demonic soul ties. When there is a sinful joining of 2 individuals, demon spirits in one person open up the other person for similar spirits, & the 2 become one.
Similar limitations are also given to govern friendships & bonds within the Body of Christ. When relationships disregard the boundaries which God has established, the relationship/friendship become perverse & demons enter.
THE POWER OF SOUL TIES
'Joined' & 'fellowship' are 2 important words in the Greek New Testament which reflect the power of soul ties.
In Eph 5:31 the word 'joined' is used in relation to marriage...'a man is to be 'joined' unto his wife'. The literal meaning in Greek is 'to cleave, to stick, glue or cement'. The word 'joined' is also used in relationship to the Church. We are all 'joined & knit together' in Eph 4:16.
When one member sins, all the other members are affected. Therefore, when a church member engages in sexual immorality, Christ the Head is affected & each member of the body is affected. That is why the church has to discipline any unrepentant sinner. Paul explained in 1Cor 5:6-7 "Dont you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast.."
The word 'joined' describes our relationship with Jesus. 1Corin 6:17 "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." We can commit spiritual adultery against God. Idolatry can be worshipping 'foreign gods' or occultic practices. By this, we are connected to or joined with evil spirits. These soul ties must be renounced & destroyed.
BREAKING DEMONIC SOUL TIES
In the 21st century, demonic soul ties are prevalent & more far-reaching than we may have thought. The 1st step towards breaking these evil soul ties are :
1) repentance toward God is necessary
2) ask God for forgiveness
3) declare satan has no legal rights over you as each of the soul tie that has been identified is now destroyed in the name of Jesus
4) command the evil spirits associated with the soul tie to leave you in Jesus name.
Be very specific when breaking soul ties. Name each sexual partner by name & verbally renounce the ties with each other. That would include wrong ties with family members, abnormal ties with people and spiritually perverse soul ties with the occultic or idolatry. Only then will one be released from spiritual bondages and strongholds.
Demon spirits are confined to the soul & body of a believer. They attack the mind, emotions & will (soul) of a person and inflict sicknesses (body) on a person as well BUT NOT the spirit of a Christian. The aim is to remove the trespassing demon spirits from the soul & body in order that Jesus can reign over these areas as well.
Jesus has delivered our spirit from the power of satan; now we have to work out our own deliverance from the 'enemies' until we are freed both in our soul & body.
The name of Jesus gives us power & authority, saves us too!

Soul Ties
I'm supposed to write this topic about 2 months ago at the request of my dearest friend but it's not an easy topic to write so I had to think through what I wanted to say 1st.
I have dealt with soul ties thru the ministry of deliverance & counselling long before I really understand them. I had to regularly break the power of soul ties over individuals' lives before they can even begin to start an intimate relationship with God.
So what is the scriptural basis for understanding soul ties and how are they formed? They are formed when 2 or more persons become bonded together. Some soul ties are good and others are evil; some are holy & some are ungodly.
GOOD SOUL TIES
Good soul ties are founded upon the law of love.
Galatians 6:2 "Carry each other's burden & in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Thus the soul ties approved by God represent the bonding of persons together in agape love. Egs of good soul ties are....
(1) Ties of Marriage
Ephesians 5:31 "For this reason a man will leave his father & mother & be united to his wife & the 2 will become one flesh." This means 1 + 1 = 1. The husband & wife are to be bonded by love. Within marriage, sexual union is an expression of God-approved love. God declares that what God joins together should not be separated through divorce - Matthew 19:6. Thus divorce violently rends soul ties which God has created. This tearing causes much pain, sorrow & trauma in divorce.
(2) Ties of Friendship
1 Sam 18:1 speaks of Jonathan's friendship with King David & Jonathan loved him as his own soul. This other soul tie is based on love & is pure. Jonathan loved David to the point of laying down his rights to the throne of Israel. Pure & holy ties are always based on godly love.
(3) Parent/Child Relationship
When the child is born, the baby should be bonded to his parents. When a healthy soul tie is formed, it ministers, throughout life, love & security to that child. The soul tie between parent & child stabilizes a child's personality.
(4) Soul Ties between Christians
We as members in the church are 'joined & knit together by every supporting ligaments, grows & builds itself up in love as each part does its work." Eph 4:16.
The soul ties formed between members of the body of Christ are desirable as they enable the body of Christ to mature & fulfill its calling (eg within a cell).
DEMONIC SOUL TIES
Demonic soul ties are perversions of the good & holy. Good soul ties are founded upon love but demonic soul ties are founded upon lust. When satan gets the chance, he will pervert that which is pure.
1) Ties Formed Through Fornication (sex outside marriage) & Adultery
1 Corin 6:16 "Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said,"For the 2 shall become 1 flesh." I remembered once Ps Khong talked abt soul ties. He mentioned that whatever the person worships or if that person is involved in witchcraft for eg, those demons in that person can be transferred to you through sexual union in the spiritual realm.
I wasnt sure abt that until I dealt with a young girl who had sex with her ex boyfriend. I was surprised that she manifested a characteristic of a particular 'demon' which she had no part of it. Apparently her boyfriend manifested that specific characteristic; That was scary and she went through Encounter to cut off her soul tie with him & chase out every evil spirits.
Through adultery, an evil soul tie is created in lust, & this demonic soul tie destroys the holy union which is based on mutual love & trust. This shatters the bonds of marital oneness.
Perverse soul ties are also formed between those of the same sex through sodomy. Homosexuals (gays & lesbians) attempt to remove the stigma of their sin by referring to themselves as 'lovers' but the Word declares that their motivation is lust. Romans 1:26-27 "Even women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women & were inflamed with lust for one another."
3) Perverted Family Ties
Satan is eager to pervert close soul ties within a family. When a son or daughter is ready to marry, the soul tie with the parents must be terminated (cutting apron strings) in order for the soul tie between husband & wife to be formed. When the father gives his daughter in marriage, he 'severs' soul tie with her in consideration of her husband. When the filial soul tie is not severed at the proper time, then that which was good & beneficial becomes evil through control & possessiveness. God decrees "A man shall leave his father & mother & be joined to his wife." Eph 5:31. This is NOT to be understood as breaking relationships with parents. Rather, it speaks of a maturing of the parent/child relationship that accompanies the maturing of the son or daughter. One must never stop honouring one's parents. This commandment in Exodus 20:12 comes with a promise that one will have long life if one honours one's parents.
During 1 of Ps Khong's sermon on soul ties, the holy spirit whispered to me that I had to cut off supernaturally unhealthy soul tie with my mum. The next second, Peter turned to me & told me I had to cut off this unhealthy soul tie with my mum! I did, & then I restored supernaturally in my prayer a healthy soul tie with her. For a long time, I was very fearful that she would die early & leave me. I was 'controlling her in my mind' that she will live long, I could not let go of her in my spirit. Do you know what I'm saying? This 'mind-control' is so unhealthy.
In the present day world, sexual perverseness has become prevalent within family relationships. There is incestuous relationship between father & daughter, between in-laws etc. I know a case of a very young grandmother (5th wife) who had sexual relationship with her step son & gave birth to a child. I tell you, the family tree was a mess!
4) Soul Ties with the Dead
When a family member or close friend dies, the soul tie formed with that person must be dissolved. Bible egs of mourning for the dead teach us that days of mourning should be limited - 7 to 30 days. Num 20:29 n Deut 34:8.
Prolonged mourning may indicate the continuation of the soul tie & that will create a chance for spirits of sorrow, grief & loneliness to enter. That was exactly what happened to me coz I had opened that door. It took me a year to get over the death of my mum. During that period, I had bouts of mild depression. Peter said he had never, in the last 18 years of marriage (back then), seen me depressed or cried, ever.. ha.. now you can see how powerful soul ties are!
5) Demonic Soul Ties Within the Church
Christ is the head of the church, so it should be the goal of church leadership to join each member to Christ. 1 Corin 6:17 "But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit."
Sometimes pastors join church members to themselves rather than to Christ or members of the congregation idolize the pastor above Christ. Cults often are grown out of these kinds of soul ties.
Paul explains that Christ is the only foundation to be laid. When man replaces Christ as the foundation, the spirit of antichrist is introduced. Demons of doctrinal error have been known to identify themselves by the name of the leader who created the error. In such cases, the demonic soul tie is clearly identified. So it is important we know our scriptures and check them for ourselves.

1 Corin 15:33 "Do not be misled! Bad company corrupts good character." One is readily influenced by one's friends, so it is important to choose friends who will edify you. Soul ties with evil companions will ensnare you.
Prov 22 vs 5 "In the paths of the wicked lie thorns & snares, but he who guards his soul stays far from them."
vs 24-25 "Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways & get yourself ensnared."

Motivating those Personality Traits
I thought I'll write some fun stuffs about personality traits. I'm only talking about a single trait of D, or I, or S, or C. Generally most people have a combination of personality traits so if a person has an S and C, the S & C predominant traits have to be played down.
All of us are unique, so we respond to different forms of motivation. It's important to know how your personality works because it reveals the basic motivation in your life that will raise your energy level every time.
Your natural personality is NOT : 1) FORCED
2) acting in a way you have LEARNED in order to ADAPT to circumstances
3) acting in a way to meet others' EXPECTATIONS.
It is being who you NATURALLY are. There are times you have to operate in all 4, but the MORE TIME you spend in your natural personality, the HIGHER your motivation will be.
D- DOMINANT - (3% of population) Active, Task Oriented, Product Oriented
- Extrovert, Doer, Optimist
- The Leader : Decisive, Independent, Dominant (NOT domineering), Direct, Dynamic, Strong-willed
Other Terms : Ready, Aim & Fire
Predominantly Motivated by : Being In Control.
Also : Adventurous activities, Appreciation for their achievements, Power, Permission to make decisions, Having choices, Leadership opportunities.
D needs to work on : 1) They have high expectations of excellence for themselves & everybody else. If they dont feel these expectations have been met, they can become critical & frustrated.
2) They need to be aware of tendencies to overlook people to get the task completed.
3) They need to use tact when dealing with others.
4) They need to develop a greater appreciation for the opinions, feelings & desires of others.

2) Sometimes, people think they are shallow or self-centred.
3) They have a strong desire to please everyone, so any type of criticism can be devastating to them.
4) 'I' can multi-task with skill. They need to be careful that in their 'bouncing around', they avoid being careless or let things 'slip through the cracks'.
5) They need to focus more on details & facts.
S - STEADINESS - (69% of ppl) Passive, People & Process Oriented
- Introvert, Watcher, Reserved

4) They often have trouble with balance & priorities & have a tendency to procrastinate.
5) They do not like to be defined by what they do, but who they are. If they feel their worth is based on performance, it will ruin their motivation.

'C' needs to work on :
1) Make a conscious effort to focus on the positive things in life by practising ways of interrupting & re-directing negative thinking.
2) They should be aware of the signs of depression as they can be prone to it.
3) They are very sensitive and have a tendency to take things personally.
4) They seem to take things literally, resulting in the feeling they've been lied to if someone doesnt follow through with something they said or planned.
5) Because they strive for excellence, they can be very tough on themselves if they feel they've failed in any way.
Interesting right? If you understand the behavioural style of your friend, you will be able to communicate & motivate him/her more effectively. I think both of you should be experts by now especially Little Lamb coz we've been explaining to you the various behavioural styles for sometime.

The Revelation of the Cross
On that Friday, Jesus' disciples thought everything was over with Jesus death. They had followed Him faithfully and now He's dead. All they had was a cross! What the disciples didnt know was that the excruciating pain & humiliation that Jesus suffered was nothing compared to what was to come - the Resurrection on Sunday. Death would be defeated. All who receive Jesus would have eternal life coz we would not experience eternal death.
John 11:25-26 "Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies, & whoever lives & believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?
The cross represents the cancelled curse. There are many aspects of the cross :
1) The Disfigurement of Jesus' face
The Father put the world's sins on Jesus & He willingly accepted this responsibility. He took on our shame for us.
2) The Crown of Thorns
Thorns and thistles represent ruin & Jesus carried upon his head the terrible toil. In Him, we have freedom from toil.
3) The Stripes Upon His Back
Jesus received 39 whip lashes from the soldiers. We can be healed from all pain, diseases & sicknesses. They are cancelled by the stripes inflicted on Jesus' back.
4) The Nails on His Hands
Each of Jesus' hands were nailed onto the cross with a very sharp nail. Each of the nails has a very important meaning.
1st nail - This 1st nail frees us from guilt. There is no need for us to feel guilty as Jesus took this horrible curse upon himself.
2nd nail - This 2nd nail cancels every arguments from satan on our lives. Arguments are created by the curses we have inherited from our family. This together with negative words spoken over our lives are now cancelled.
5) The Nail on His Feet
3rd nail - His 2 feet were put together by a 3rd long nail. This nail gives us victory over every oppression tt Jesus himself had suffered on our behalf.
6) The Spear on His Side
After Jesus died, a soldier pierced his side with a spear & water & blood came out. Medical experts say that when water & blood get mixed tog in the body, it is usually because the person's heart has exploded. We may say - my heart is hurt & my soul is broken but Jesus tells us his heart has exploded so that ours can be healed. This represents inner healing.
7) The Blood (like sweat) at Gethsemane
Hebrews 9:22 "Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness." Just one drop of Jesus' blood has the power to cleanse the darkest & most despicable sin that man has ever committed.
The Encounter gives us a new opportunity to receive the blessings of God after breaking all curses in our lives at the cross which we have inherited from our forefathers.
An encounter with God will confront our past & uproots its negative influences totally from our lives. Every fear, hurt & wound of ours are nailed at the cross. Only then, will we have a more intimate relationship with God, stronger conscience/spirit, love others unconditionally without feeling suspicious, resentful or offended, & stop rehearsing past hurts when we are with people.
The Lord says to all of us ...
Isaiah 42:6-7 "I the Lord have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you & will make you to be a covenant for the people & a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison & to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
