THE INFLUENCE OF LIKE SPIRITS
Anyway, I'm sure you'll want to know how demons are able to enter into soul ties? Well, just as we have physical laws on earth, we also have spiritual laws to govern us. When spiritual boundaries are violated, evil spirits are able to enter.
God has set boundaries for all our relationships to protect us eg in a marriage, a man is to forsake all others and be joined to his wife. In a godly marriage, the Holy Spirit flows between husband and wife and the 2 shall become 1. Through soul ties, a spiritual channel is formed.
The same principle operates in demonic soul ties. When there is a sinful joining of 2 individuals, demon spirits in one person open up the other person for similar spirits, & the 2 become one.
Similar limitations are also given to govern friendships & bonds within the Body of Christ. When relationships disregard the boundaries which God has established, the relationship/friendship become perverse & demons enter.
THE POWER OF SOUL TIES
'Joined' & 'fellowship' are 2 important words in the Greek New Testament which reflect the power of soul ties.
In Eph 5:31 the word 'joined' is used in relation to marriage...'a man is to be 'joined' unto his wife'. The literal meaning in Greek is 'to cleave, to stick, glue or cement'. The word 'joined' is also used in relationship to the Church. We are all 'joined & knit together' in Eph 4:16.
When one member sins, all the other members are affected. Therefore, when a church member engages in sexual immorality, Christ the Head is affected & each member of the body is affected. That is why the church has to discipline any unrepentant sinner. Paul explained in 1Cor 5:6-7 "Dont you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast.."
The word 'joined' describes our relationship with Jesus. 1Corin 6:17 "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." We can commit spiritual adultery against God. Idolatry can be worshipping 'foreign gods' or occultic practices. By this, we are connected to or joined with evil spirits. These soul ties must be renounced & destroyed.
BREAKING DEMONIC SOUL TIES
In the 21st century, demonic soul ties are prevalent & more far-reaching than we may have thought. The 1st step towards breaking these evil soul ties are :
1) repentance toward God is necessary
2) ask God for forgiveness
3) declare satan has no legal rights over you as each of the soul tie that has been identified is now destroyed in the name of Jesus
4) command the evil spirits associated with the soul tie to leave you in Jesus name.
Be very specific when breaking soul ties. Name each sexual partner by name & verbally renounce the ties with each other. That would include wrong ties with family members, abnormal ties with people and spiritually perverse soul ties with the occultic or idolatry. Only then will one be released from spiritual bondages and strongholds.
Demon spirits are confined to the soul & body of a believer. They attack the mind, emotions & will (soul) of a person and inflict sicknesses (body) on a person as well BUT NOT the spirit of a Christian. The aim is to remove the trespassing demon spirits from the soul & body in order that Jesus can reign over these areas as well.
Jesus has delivered our spirit from the power of satan; now we have to work out our own deliverance from the 'enemies' until we are freed both in our soul & body.
Philippians 2:12-13 "..continue to work out your salvation with fear & trembling. For it is God who works in you to will & to act according to his good purpose."
The name of Jesus gives us power & authority, saves us too!
